Update on Umagas Release

- The latest news regarding Umaga is that he was in trouble with WWE management and ended up quitting the company because of it. If his release was drug-related, WWE would have posted something about it publicly on their website. The whole thing went down late last week and Umaga was originally scheduled to defeat CM Punk at Extreme Rules.

If true, that is a crying shame. From the sounds of it it looks like Umaga got in trouble and took the little kid approach and slammed the door; except in this case the door Umaga slammed was the front door to WWE Emloyment.

It may be a while before WWE brings Umaga back, or before Umaga wants to go back, depending on just what he got in trouble for. Im still a fan of his character, though. I try not to let off-screen things affect my opinion of an on-screen character/feud/match/etc.

If Umaga was supposed to go over at Extreme Rules, one has to wonder just how that would affect Punks cashing in of the MITB, if it would at all (I dont think it really would; it would have just given Punk one more challenger). Though, Umaga supposed to be going over the guy who went on to win the World Title later in the night? Not sure how likely that would be. Then again, it isnt like Punk won the belt in an actual match, so a loss to Umaga REALLY wouldnt have hurt him, and it would at least give him Umaga to continue feuding with over the belt for another month or so.

So there it is. A reason for Umagas release/quitting, kind of. Cant say I condone just up and quitting over getting in trouble about something, but it does depend what exactly went down between Umaga and the WWE. Will he return to the WWE one day, or will he go back to Japan or possibly TNA? Time shall tell.
